The Heathcote Shiraz grapes are sourced from 20-year-old vines, using gentle hand plunging techniques and a traditional basket press, to make this beautifully handcrafted boutique wine. 2023 Vintage in Heathcote was a difficult La Niña season, seeing a wet & cold Winter & Spring, followed by a cool Summer resulting in low yields with the outcome of beautiful aromatic & elegant wines. Our Shiraz shows uplifting notes of violets & blackberries on the nose. The palette drives elegance with soft subtle tannins & spice, shining with blackberries, blueberries & redcurrant fruits. The Shiraz is a medium-bodied wine, lightly oaked with 8 months maturation in an old French oak barrique. Only two barrels of this beauty was created, be sure not to miss out.
2021 Single Vineyard Heathcote Shiraz This Basket Pressed Heathcote Shiraz was created through a gentle hands-on winemaking approach. Heathcote 2021 Vintage some say was the perfect vintage starting with a wet Winter, followed by a mild Spring & Summer. This Shiraz is a medium-bodied wine, matured in old French oak for 8 months. It has blueberry & blackberry aroma, upfront white pepper spice on the palate alongside dark fruits of blackberry & raspberry, with soft tannins with a lovely length.
